Epson printer problem Our C60 was working fine, and yesterday I was able to print in B&W at first but then when I tried to print colour it only printed in pink. I admit, I had installed refilled cartridges, so I thought perhaps they hadn't filled the cartridge up right. I tried cleaning the heads a number of times, replacing the cartridge with a new (refilled) cartridge and also with a new generic cartridge. The only thing that happened is that the test squares got increasingly bad, and now it won't print at all. The power light is flashing and the maintenance light is on solidly. I have reviewed past postings and thought maybe I should try to flush it using the water/coffee filter technique, but I don't know how to unlock the assy so that these parts can be moved. My level of knowledge and skill is to plug it in and expect everything to work but I am willing to try to fix this problem if it means the printer isn't junk. I just don't know even the initial steps to take to begin working on this problem. Any helpful suggestions or ideas out there? Rachel, have you found a solution to the lcd problem. I tried contacting epson and had no luck. It must have been an automated response because they kept giving me the same wrong answer. You can change your print cartridges through the software. when the message comes up saying you need ink there should be an option to chnage the ink cartridge. You can email me with the same epson rx600 in the subject and I will look for it. if you need help changing the ink. If you know what to do about the lcd let me know also. THanks Yvonne - Anonymous Hello Rachel. I have just spotted your posting and I am having exactly the same problem with my printer - was anyone able to offer any suggestions? Thanks Sheila - Anonymous Hello, I have the same problem. Do you fix it ? I need some help too. Thanks, - Anonymous It's a common problem, the waste ink counter is overflowed and the printer refuses to operate. Some generic infos about how to reset the printer are here: http://myprinter.altervista.org/simplefaq/mysimplefaq.html#counter but this will only clear the error, you should also disassemble your printer clean the waste ink pads you can find at printer bottom. You can find and exploded diagram of you printer at: http://www.compassmicro.com/parts.cfm Pads to clean are parts #504 and #503 listed at page #4 of exploded diagram. Hello All. I believe I have a serious problem with my printer. I seldom use it as I do not need colour all the time with the work I do. I run two Laser Printers and this Epson. When I went to use the Epson it fired up and cycled very slow, stopped and all the lights flash. What do you gurus think my problem might be and should I just scrap this and move on? It has been an awesome printer for the while I have had it. A bit slow but the clour was nice. Any Ideas Out there? Thanks all! I have had exactly the same problem with my Epson Stylus Photo 830u, I replaced the compatible cartridges with genuine Epson cartridges which cost quite a bit, and still have the problem, the cartridges are not recognised, I have tried everything I can think of, short of buying a new printer! Any suggestions would be appreciated - Anonymous Hi My name is Mushingi Dumbu, i have my Epson stylus color 600 it can power on and initialise normally. The problem now is i changed both print catridges but i can not print its selftest page and even sending from the host computer it can pick paper and the head moves properly and the paper stops halfway and shows the no paper error light. So i do not know what could be causing the printer not to print and if anyone can help me i would be very happy. Regards, Mushingi I have been having a problem with my CX 5400. I admit to using generic ink. When I print anything in color, it is mostly yellow. Black prints fine. I just purchased and installed some Epson ink cartridges (NOT generic) hoping the situation would improve, but it did not. Prior to installing the Epson ink, everything was mostly green. I think I've only used two sets of generic ink cartridges. I don't use this printer for color printing all that often. Most printing is text - black ink. Could this be clogged nozzles? Is it possible that the generic ink is responsible for my problems? My Epson C40UX started acting like the print heads needed cleaning, both black and color. I ran it through two cleaning cycles and continued printing. The cleaning cycles didn't help. The banding got worse. Then a Message: "Maintenance Call: Parts inside your printer require maintenance or replacement. Contact your dealer." The green and red lights flash alternately. I downloaded the recommended software, http://inkjetprinterhelp.us/epsonSSC.html and reset the protection counter for the waste ink pads, just in case, but that isn't the problem. What else would cause the "Maintenance Call"? Bad print head? Mainboard fried? What to do next???
